Speech, language, and literacy support
Individualized to fit your needs and schedule
Assessment Services
Screenings
Low-cost screenings can be scheduled to identify areas of strength and areas of concern. Screenings are a helpful tool to determine if further assessment is needed.
Evaluations
Complete evaluations are important for determining a child’s strengths, areas of need, and diagnosing any delays or disorders. Evaluations also provide key information and a “starting point” for therapy.
Playful Words Speech Language Pathology, PLLC requires an evaluation prior to beginning services. Evaluations are individualized for each child. An initial phone consultation can help determine which assessments to select and which toys or favorite interests to incorporate!
Evaluations are billed at a flat rate and include a written report and a phone call to review results.
Therapy Services
Speech and Language Therapy
Speech and language therapy sessions use evidence-based strategies to address your child’s specific needs and support their development.
Frequency of sessions will be recommended based on the initial evaluation. Sessions are typically scheduled 1x-3x weekly and may be 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes in length.
While I typically bring some toys and materials with me, I focus on incorporating items readily available in your home, community, or child’s school so activities and strategies can continue to be implemented by family members and teachers after sessions end.
Family members are strongly encouraged to participate in sessions to support generalization of skills and faster progress.
